# Shipping

Shipping describes how crops, fish, wines and crafted items like soups and jellies can be sold in return for money, shipping is the system through which crops, fishing and cooking are so valuable as you are directly able to gain money from selling your produce!

Each item has an assigned value that changes periodically, these values will change overtime to prevent any one product becoming the **meta**. This gives you the freedom of choice to make whatever you'd like to grow, brew or cook! In general an item's **value increases** substantially as the tier increases, many cooked and brewed products are only produced with the **first tier** of crop or fish because the **quality of ingredients** wont effect the **quality of the product**.\
There are two ways to ship, these are described below:

{% hint style="info" %}
**Fish**

Fish sold through shipping work a little different, as well as coming in three tiers, each rarer to find than the last, fish also will sell for more based on their **size** value as larger fish are valued more than smaller fish.
{% endhint %}

## Shipping Bin

The first method of shipping is the **Shipping Bin** which is a new block that has been added, It is placed down to sell your produce, they **must be placed within your town** to ensure that your products can be collected, **right clicking** this block with open the shipping menu, where you can place your items and **click ship** to receive your money!

## The Farmer and Angler

Your second option when it comes to shipping your produce is though talking to one of the people found a little further into spawn, The farmer and the Angler, they will take produce of your hands, by opening the shipping menu, giving you the same value as would be given with the shipping bin.

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-7c0f8a78f4bbb1829513bdc9138dd6a862320410%2F2023-03-20_20.44.37.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>There is no benefit to using the shipping bin over the farmer, it is just to reduce the need to travel.</p></figcaption></figure>

# Getting Started

In the context of custom crops, foraging refers to the process of obtaining seeds and natural crops, In the wild there are two main ways: wilderness gardens and seed crafting. More ways will be possible in the future as the system is expanded.

**Wilderness Shrubs**

* \- Wilderness Shrubs are custom plants that grow throughout the world and can be found in a wide variety of biomes, when broken these gardens will randomly drop one crop that grows in that climate.
* \- Shrubs come in six varieties: **Arid, Frosty, Soggy, Shaded, Tropical** and **Windy** distributed throughout the world.
* \- When broken they each drop *one* crop of the corresponding climate type. These shrubs are found in a selection of biomes based on those area's climates, *Frosty Shrubs* are found in the cold *Taiga*, *Arid Shrubs* in the dry *Deserts* and so forth.

**Seed Crafting**

\- Any crop *(found foraging, bought from other players or harvested from a cultivated plant)* can be put into a crafting grid to receive one of the corresponding seed type regardless of tier, with a *1:1* ratio.

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-745adf6d8b65da7602e359d37b86556ed06ef16a%2Fimage_2023-03-16_214423006.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>All shrubs from left to right: Arid, Frosty, Shaded, Soggy, Tropical and Windy</p></figcaption></figure>

# Growing & Seasons

Crops as a system is built to work in tandem with vanilla yet, *unlike what you're used to*, plants grow by **one stage each morning** in-game. However, crops are bound by certain conditions of growth for example: only being able to be grown in certain seasons, all crops are only able to be grown in planting pots, requiring watering and so on. Crops also require exposure to sunlight, (A **sky-light** level of ***eight or higher***) to grow.\
**Planting Pot**

* The “Planting Pot” is a newly introduced block they are fairly cheap to craft and you will find yourself using a lot of these due to the fact they are the only block in which custom crops can be planted.

<div align="center"><figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-ab5b9240a6c9657dd81f8bfcb30417c4072ca19a%2Fimage_2023-03-16_214803333.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>An example of the planting pot recipe, similar to that of the composter.</p></figcaption></figure></div>

## **Seasonal Crops**

A very important aspect of the crops system are the four Seasons, **Winter**, **Spring**, **Summer**, and **Autumn**. - Most crops are seasonally dependant, *this means they are only able to grown certain seasons (usually two or more)*, these planting seasons are based loosely on their real-life counterparts. You are able to grow roughly around the same number of crops in each season with the exception of **winter** where only a total of **six** crops can be grown.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-2640cb7ca6c3d3791bb358a8f60b30ed2410b772%2Fimage_2023-03-16_215041320.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>An example of a planting pot that contains a stage one plant.</p></figcaption></figure></div>

# Fertilizer

When it comes time to harvest your crop (with a right click) your plant will drop a varying number of item, each time you harvest the quality of your produce is random, the crops will be a mixture of three tiers which increase in rarity: **Common, Uncommon and Rare**

## Fertilizer

There are currently 4 types of fertilizer.

* **Retaining**: this fertilizer contains gravel, flint and clay and gives your pot a chance to retain moisture overnight due to the large stone sizes, the only obtainable tier is the first
* **Speed**: this fertilizer contains bonemeal and rooted dirt and increases the nutrition in the plant’s soil giving it *a chance to grow two stages overnight* rather than the normal one, the first tier can be obtained through crafting and the second as a rare drop from fishing chests.
* **Quality**: this fertilizer contains rare compounds and natural hormones to allow the crop to grow to larger sizes and *increases the chances to produce a higher tier*, only the first tier is available and the second can be caught as a rare drop from fishing chests.
* **Yield**: this fertilizer contains powerful nutrients which promote the growth of a larger yield *causing the crop to drop more produce* the first tier can be caught as an uncommon drop from fishing chests.

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-e9373454aa051a7e670d193a695259797df202aa%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>The first tiers of speed, quality, retaining, and yield respectively.</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a2c9e1783a8aeadedf7b4ba2dde87458f1939d23%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>A pot displays green particles when it has been right clicked with fertilizer.</p></figcaption></figure>

# Watering

Along with having to grow your plants during the correct season and in your planting pots, crops will also need to be watered if you want them to grow.

## Watering Can

The simplest of the options to start off is the watering can, a simple tool that holds water and can be right clicked on a watersource to be refilled. They come in several varieties the capacity and radius of watering can increases the more it’s upgraded.

The copper watering can is crafted copper ingots and a bowl, contains three water and has a range of 1x1

The upgraded form of the copper watering can, crafted with iron ingots it can contain four water and has a range of 1 x 3 blocks

The upgraded form of the iron watering can, crafted with golden ingots and blocks it can contain five water and has a range of 3 x 3 blocks

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-76de9e1f5aa9b2b011f6c66e983e1c552bb7cab1%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>The recipe for the first tier of watering can, the copper watering can.</p></figcaption></figure>

## Sprinkler

An option which is much more advanced than the watering can, is the semi-automated sprinkler *(It waters for you!)*, it comes in two tiers and waters blocks once every morning the same time as plants grow. However a caveat of the sprinkler, they need to be refilled to function, this can be done with a water bucket or with any tier of watering can.

The first sprinkler tier is crafted with iron ingots, redstone and sticks it is able to contains five water and irrigates all blocks within a range of one.

The second tier of sprinkler is crafted with one Iron sprinkler and gold ingots and contains seven water and irrigates all blocks within a range of two.

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-f808ea33ad0beb9c517ca3a3cb8760f1fbe0d19a%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>The recipe for the first tier of sprinkler, the iron sprinkler.</p></figcaption></figure>

# Scarecrows

Another challenge your crops will face is the threat of being damaged by crows, every day there is a random chance your crops will be attacked by these bird monsters, ruining your crop.

## Scarecrow

The only way you can protect your crop from this avian pest is the use of a scare crow, or in this case, a scare-melon-lord which will ward off all crows from attacking your crops in that chunk.

The scarecrow can be crafted with three sticks, one melon block and a piece of wheat using a workbench.

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-e15638df8ef394c63d9b6a04f4e519a28bb908f1%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>An example of the Melon Lord protecting some crops.</p></figcaption></figure>

# Getting Started

Currently, a total of **14 new fish** have been introduced! Each new fish has three quality variants and these higher qualities of fish are both *worth more* and are *less common*, with the exception of the vanilla fish which have one tier.

## Seasons

Each of the new fish are evenly distributed between the four seasons where most fish can be captured two of the four seasons with some exceptions, like carp and salmon, which are able to be caught in any season.

## Biomes

Fish are split into three categories based on biome: River fish, Ocean fish and Deep-Ocean fish, where they will only be found in their corresponding biome as well as fulfilling the other three conditions.

## Time

Some fish have a preference for different conditions such as only appearing during rain and thunder or possibly only at night, dawn and dusk, these will be the much rarer fish that you can catch.

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-1e1b94c780afe3e7145f4451ba6c37214ac28d83%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>An example of one of the fish introduced</p></figcaption></figure>

# Catching Fish

## The Fishing Bar

The new “***fishing bar***” replaces the vanilla fishing system where, as well as having to right click to when the bobber goes underwater, you **right click** with the fishing rod when the fishing bar reaches the correct point on your screen to catch your fish, the aim of the game is to right click when the bar reaches the *“Green”* zone where you will be guaranteed a fish drop, as the zones shift in color your likelihood of reeling in your catch decreases, with a lower chance in *Orange* and no chance in *Red*. Sounds simple enough. Right?

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-975b2390cd7d38561a10c0641d6496c197f249f3%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>The fishing bar, the green zone having a 100% chance to catch fish.</p></figcaption></figure>

## Difficulty

Each fish has their own difficulty level (alterable with modifiers) which means the speed at which the indicator moves as well as the leniency of the zones on the bar, this could mean smaller zones or no “orange” zones meaning as difficulty increases meaning you need to be quicker and more accurate!

# Treasure Chests

Currently with a somewhat common rarity, the treasure chest acts like a fish right up until when you catch it, instead of receiving loot as your normally would, a somewhat large treasure chest will be hooked right out of the water and be pulled towards the player, uncovered from the depths of the sea!

## Opening

These treasure chests can be broken by punching them in quick succession at which point they will open and reveal loot from the depths of the sea! But you’ve got to be quick as the chests despawn quickly so make sure to break them as soon as they are pulled to shore.

## Loot

Some examples of the treasure chest contents are sea salt, broken armour, higher tier fishing rods, fishing bait and uncommon fertilizer for use with crops.

However! We won’t be telling you too much here so go out and explore! Also watch out for variant fishing chests in the future which may contain even rarer loot as well as seasonal or cave treasure chests that will contain specific loot.

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-fb3bd7aa041a9b4cb05f7c77637bcf7f81867faf%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>The three states of the treasure chest, with the opening animation.</p></figcaption></figure>

# Fishing Bait

Baits are new items which can be held in the offhand or in your fishing bag to modify aspects of your fishing experience such as, double drop chance, fishing speed and quality of fish caught. Automatically used while using your rod in the main hand and one is consumed every time you cast your rod.

There are currently *three* types of bait, the magnet bait, which attracts fish causing fishing to take less time, basic bait, which attracts larger fish causing catches to have a chance to be higher quality and wild bait, which has mysterious properties and increases substantially the chance to catch two fish.\\

* **Basic** – This bait can be obtained by crafting one rotten flesh with string in the crafting table, it increases all attributes of fishing, quality, double chance, and speed but only by a small amount
* **Magnet** – This bait can be obtained as a rare drop from treasure chests or crafted with one basic bait, an iron nugget, and a piece of Redstone
* **Quality** – This bait can also be obtained via fished up treasure chests but less commonly or can be crafted using two basic bait and a diamond creating two quality baits
* Double – Wild bait doesn’t currently have any sources other than as an extremely rare drop from treasure chests, possibly someone on the spawn island may know more about it in the future…

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-8f1d01182dd9fb62a2b18b2edfcba06f95597c44%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>Three of the bait types pictured, basic, wild and magnet respectively</p></figcaption></figure>

\\

# Fishing Rods

There are currently 3 obtainable fishing rod upgrades which are crafted using the previous tier and several items, these upgraded tiers increase attributes like the way bait can, but can be used in together with bait

* **Nature rod,** this rod is caught from treasure chests it slightly increases attributes like fishing speed and chance for rarer fish, found also as an uncommon drop from treasure chests
* **Iron rod**, created by reinforcing the nature rod with iron ingots, further increases speed and fish rarity modifier as well as adding a small chance for drops to be doubled

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-b5b4fa6a1f25a985190347d91a97b76d2514cc4f%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>The crafting recipe for the Iron fishing rod, the Nature rod in the middle</p></figcaption></figure>

* **Gold rod**, created using the iron rod and two golden blocks, increases even more fishing speed and rarity modifier as well as having a reasonable chance for double drops

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-73127ace0e0c5cc6d863160e4106d0ddb8fabddf%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>The crafting recipe for the Gold fishing rod</p></figcaption></figure>

The Star fishing rod, is a mythical rod with an insane fishing speed and massive rarity modifier can only be caught as a legendary drop from treasure chests, so get fishing!\ <br>

# Competitions

Another aspect of custom fishing is the ability to *compete with other players* to receive rare drops, bragging rights or for money alone.

Two times a day a broadcast will be sent in chat to announce that a fishing competition has started, so get to fishing straight away, and as soon as 3 or more players are fishing the competition has started, currently, all participants will race to catch as many fish as they possibly can in each time whoever catching the most fish will win.

Music will also play to indicate while you’re participating in a competition

## Rewards you may ask?

Currently all players who participate will receive a small sum as a reward for participation and rewards will increase the higher, you’re ranked within the competition, the person in second place will receive a treasure chest loot drop, and the player who ranked first will have a drop given from the "Rare" loot drop table, which includes, Jade, Rare Bait, T2 Fertilizers and Rare rods.

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-724ab64effa71720bb5528f336a33b7f26fb6d03%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>The start of a Fishing Competition, make sure to get fishing</p></figcaption></figure>

# Getting Started

Brewing is a process that can be as simple as putting ingredients in a cauldron or as complicated as a three step system, allowing for the making of drinks ranging from **Vodka** and **Blueberry Wine** to Iced Coffee. The process is very much discovery focused, and quick mastery of this art isn't to be taken lightly. Depending on how well **Fermentation**, (**Distilling** when applicable) and **Aging** are performed this will affect the quality of the produced drink, shown in the **item's lore as stars**, higher quality drinks will have a **higher value** and **less negative effects** when drunk.

## Fermenting

The first step in brewing consists of Fermenting the fresh Ingredients.

1. Place a Cauldron over a Fire or other heat source such as a Campfire or Magma block
2. Fill the cauldron with water using a bucket
3. Add Ingredients in to the cauldron (this is done by right clicking with the ingredient on the caldron)
4. Wait for the recipe required time while the ingredients ferment
5. Decant into glass bottles (three is standard for one cauldron)

*Tip : Use a clock on a cauldron by right clicking if you want to check the time the ingredients have been fermenting. The brew will also emit particles while boiling.*

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-47adddcca9470e1c821da47d1ebccc83950a89dc%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>A cauldron over a fire source</p></figcaption></figure>

## Barrel Aging

Aging is the process of letting your drinks mature in a barrel, this is done to improve the quality of your drinks or to finish off a high proof spirit, as the title implies barrel aging requires a barrel, when it comes to barrels you have three choices,

### Making the Barrels

**Standard Barrel:** *| 6 available Slots |* The Standard barrel can be used for aging of a few brews. Simply craft and place the barrel and put the brews inside.

<figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-74844579960fce126a2363d39eb68b19804a7551%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>A Standard Barrel</p></figcaption></figure>

**Small barrel** *| 9 available Slots |* Use 8 wooden stairs to build a barrel shape. Place a Sign on the lower right side and write "Barrel" on the top line.

"Barrel created" should appear in chat.

<div><figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-e0d1b21ae62cb64e5c8666ab522e052f20cfe197%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>Example of a small Barrel (Front)</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://376773578-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F7wScFwS8mTfMNeNwjYF5%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a89173b40ab2a48c0e86aa5834ff70e329d7c96b%2Fimage.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>Example of a small Barrel (side)</p></figcaption></figure></div>

The six rarities from cheapest to most expensive include, **common**, **uncommon**, **rare**, **very rare**, **legendary**, and **mythic**, with common being the most easiest to get, while mythtic is the hardest, needing 112 levels to purchase 1. Do note that this will consume every level, so get grinding!

Enchants are purchased with experience and not money, and there are varieties for tools and armour, some for combat and some for utility.

Enchantments are also very unique, and each one you get has a different success rate, even if it is the same enchant. Some also have levels like **Metal Extraction** with three levels. The success rate is the probability of the enchant being applied to your tool, else your tool will get destroyed with the enchant. There are ways to prevent this.

When with the right amount of experience, a random book is purchased from the chosen rarity with a random success and destroy rate. The book is then dragged in the player's inventory and applied to the tool or armour and the success is a gamble, unless scrolls are applied.

# Dust, Alchemist and Tinkerer

An item called **dust** gives you the ability to boost an enchantment's success rates while reducing the probability that it will not succeed.

The tinkerer and useless tinkering books can be used to create dust.

The Tinkerer and the Alchemist can be used to trade and combine enchants to create better ones or to obtain dust in addition to the ability to purchase enchants with experience and apply them on your tools and armour.

**Tinkerer**: The tinkerer is utilised to obtain dust. A single book or a number of books of similar value in the Tinkerer menu. Books are traded for mystery dust packages, which when right clicked has a chance to give you spirit dust.

But this is not always the case. Sometimes received mystery package will give you **spirit fragment dust**, which is useless and cannot be used on books.

**Alchemist**: Enchantments and dust can be combined using the Alchemist menu. It begins with two identically rare dust or enchantments, such as two common or rare items, and is exchanged for either a dust or book of greater rarity. Only two books and two dusts can be combined at once.

# Enchanting Scrolls

Scrolls are special items used on tools and armour with enchants and perform different actions based on what scroll you are using.

There are therefore three scrolls in total, each with a variety of abilities. The scrolls can be accessed at the bottom of the custom enchants menu, and do not use experience but require money to be purchased.

**White Scroll**: The capacity to prevent enchantments from destroying tools or armour

**Black Scroll**: The power to transform a random custom enchant into a book and remove it from your weapon.

**Spirit White Scroll**: In essence, like Soulbound, the capacity to retain an item's enchantment after death

All you need to do to use a scroll is open your inventory. Drop the scroll onto the chosen weapon or piece of armour by dragging it there.
